Moe's Southwest Grill® Launches New Meal Kits, Donating $1 for Every Kit Sold to No Kid Hungry
Through the Partnership Moe’s Will Help Provide Up to 2 Million Meals to Kids Facing Hunger
July 28, 2020
ATLANTA, July 28, 2020 -- “Back to school” may look different
this year, but one thing remains the same: kids in America are hungry and rely
on the nutrition they receive from school meals to learn, grow and reach their
full potential. In fact, 1 in 4 kids in the United States could face hunger
this year because of the coronavirus1. That is why
Moe's Southwest Grill®, fast casual
restaurant brand, will be helping to provide up to 2 million meals this summer
and beyond through their partnership with
No Kid Hungry, a national campaign to end childhood hunger in America.
Starting today through the end of August, $1 for every Moe’s Meal Kit sold
will be donated to No Kid Hungry2. Meal kits include Taco Kits,
originally released in March in response to the pandemic as a way to help
families dine together at home, as well as newly launched Nacho Meal Kits and
Fajita Meal Kits. Moe’s customers have more options than ever to feed their
families, while also helping give back to those in need in their community.
“The Moe’s brand was built on supporting local communities and partnering with
No Kid Hungry has allowed us to continue to show up and support them during
these challenging times,” said Erik Hess, President, Moe’s Southwest Grill.
“COVID-19 has created an increased need for children facing food insecurity
and through our partnership, we will help provide up to 2 million meals to
children in need across the country.”
Moe’s Meal Kits will provide a full Southwest spread serving 4-6 people and
featuring all the ingredients for each family member to create their own
Taco Kits: your choice of 2 proteins, tortillas, queso,
beans, rice, lettuce, cheese, pico, sour cream, queso and chips.
Nacho Kits: your choice of 2 proteins, beans, pico,
jalapenos, sour cream, salsa, queso and chips.
Fajita Kits: your choice of 2 proteins, tortillas, beans,
rice, lettuce, cheese, pico, grilled peppers, grilled onions, guacamole,
sour cream, queso and chips.
To help customers make the most out of their leftovers, each kit will also
include a special recipe developed by Chef Caroline Morris, VP Menu Management
at Moe’s Southwest Grill, including Taco Kit Enchiladas, Fajita Kit Personal
Pizzas and Nacho Kit Chilaquiles.
All kits will be available to order in-store, on Moes.com, and on the Moe
Rewards app, with the Nacho Kits starting at $24.99, Taco Kits starting at
$29.99 and Fajita Kits starting at $34.99.
